m._paul_viau_prefet-1-e1455308631294-150x150A Word From the Mayor

In these exceptionally difficult times, we want to reassure the community.  In order to stay informed on the evolution of the pandemic, every week elected officials and municipal office staff are in close contact with the health authorities. Whether it is through the Montérégie public health department or the office of Ms. Claire Isabelle, deputy for Huntingdon, the municipalities are well informed.

We remind you to remain vigilant and respectful of the health instructions put in place by the health authorities:

  • Wash your hands;
  • Keep a distance of 2 meters between individuals;
  • Cough into your elbow;
  • Adopt the habit of wearing face coverings in public places, such as local businesses, as well as at the municipal eco-centre and when making voluntary contributions to the municipal warehouse.

For the moment the municipal offices remain closed to the public. Council meetings are held on camera. Audio content is available on the municipalities’ website.

We wish to inform you of some sad news. Mr. Jean Pierre Bergeron passed away on May 24th 2020 at the age of 74. This committed citizen was Mayor and Councillor for the Municipality of the Township of Hemmingford for a period of 17 years. All our sympathies to his wife, daughters and family.

Paul Viau

Mayor, Township of Hemmingford
