Second press release on COVID-19, Monday March 16, 2020, 9 a.m.

The Village Municipality of Hemmingford has made the decision to immediately close access to City Hall for an indefinite period. This decision was made to ensure the health and safety of municipal employees, but also of all citizens of the Village. However, municipal employees continue to work at the city hall and road employees continue to work in the field. Please be assured that our activities are proceeding normally and that none of the essential services will be affected.

Please also note that we have already announced the closure of the Recreation Center as well as the municipal library until further notice.

We are aware of the inconvenience these measures may cause. However, we are responsible for taking all necessary measures to reduce the risk of the virus spreading.

Since the employees continue to work normally, you can contact us by phone (450) 247-3310 or by email during our business hours, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

As indicated in By-law 316 on rates for 2020, the first payment of municipal taxes is scheduled for March 25, 2020. We invite you to make your payments by internet via your financial institution or to send a check by mail. We will send a receipt to all citizens who request it by phone or email.

We will adapt with each citizen who informs us that he or she will not be able to meet the March 25 date because of a particular situation.

Thank you for your understanding and your cooperation.
